Skyrim Open Civil War
. The open civil war is no longer blocked if Whiterun is owned by enemy faction. You still have to retake it before the final hold campaign, though. In CWArrowVolleyParent script, moved the WAIT call outside the IF in a WHILE loop. This is to counter a potential white-lock starvation by an unfair threading scheduler. Skyrim Civil War goes miles towards making the civil war feel like a major part of Skyrim’s socio-economic make-up, and lending credence to all the plastic-faced NPCs who won’t shut up about.
Before anyone comes on here to hate I know the in game reason because Ulfric wants to be highking and free skyrim also this is just myopinion. My belief is that with a weaken skyrim the Aldmeri Dominion could easly go in and take over.to explain in detail I'll start with the begining the game with Ulfric captured the civil war is basically over and the thalmor are not happy about this but luckly for them Alduin arrives and disrupts the execution. Now let's look at Thalmor Dossier: Ulfric Stormcloak which states: Direct contact remains a possibility (under extreme circumstances), but in general the asset should be considered dormant.
As long as the civil war proceeds in its current indecisive fashion. The incident at Helgen is an example where an exception had to be made - obviously Ulfric's death would have dramatically increased the chance of an Imperial victory and thus harmed our overall position in Skyrim. So if Ulfric were win the civil war it would make it much easier for them to take control of a weaken skyrim and if empire gone theres no army to help them and they lose a large supplier of goods for skyrim. They have already tried to take over Hammerfell but were stopped.NOTE: THIS not a campain ad for the impearl side of the quest.Walk always in the light or i will drag you into it. I assumed this was fairly obvious. They demanded huge portions of hammerfell to drive a wedge between the empire and hammerfell.
They banned Talos to split off skyrim. The justiciars are obviously spies, heck the elves ambassador is the interrogator who tortured ulfric. The reason they don't want ulfric to win is two-fold. For maximum destruction they want to run the war for as long as possible. Also, Ulfric despises the aldmeri and wants to go to war with them ASAP. So from the long run if he wins instead of an apparently wussy Medes they'll have an army run by the all elves stink people.I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.
I dont know if a stormcloak victory would necessarily benefit the thalmor. They benefit as long as the war continues, as both Cyrodiil and Skyrim are expending blood and treasure, making them weaker. But if Skyrim becomes an independant nation, that would allow both nations to begin to rebuild.Once they regain their strength, they could form an alliance and defeat the Thalmor. Cyrodiil might actually become stronger when it isn't expending vast amounts of resources governing distand nations. The downfall of all great empires is usually precipitated due to overreach.

Cyrodiil might actually become stronger when it isn't expending vast amounts of resources governing distand nations. The downfall of all great empires is usually precipitated due to overreach.I will point out that the Dominion is even more vulnerable to this than the Empire has been. The Empire has been battered into a state of perpetual meltdown over the past two hundred years to finally reach the point where it is unable to hold on to its provinces without expending more resources than they bring in.
The Dominion, as long as the Thalmor retain their current core philosophy, has taken those same two hundred years to become barely equal to the Empire. The Empire can recover. The Dominion, however, cannot really gather more strength. Everybody who has any chance of actually becoming a supporter of the Dominion is already incorporated - and that means only the Altmer and the Bosmer. The Dominion wouldn't touch the Orsimer with a ten foot pole, and the Orsimer would only touch the Dominion with a ten foot pole if there were a gigantic hammer head attached to it called Volendrung. Meanwhile, the Dunmer fled to the opposite side of the continent expressly to get away from the Altmer - they're not going to come meekly back into the fold. It goes without saying that all of the races of men are going to be useless to the Dominion, since the Dominion is so intensely racist against men.
The Dominion may be able to kill off the Empire and become the most powerful single nation on Tamriel, but it will never be able to replace the Empire. Thus, the nihilism of the Thalmor finds its practical basis. Sure, they have religious reasons for wanting to break everything, but on a practical level, they only way they can become more dominant is to weaken everybody else, because they have already reached the limits of how strong they can become. One thing to consider, if the Nords secede under Ulfric, then the Legion will become even more strained than it was after the loss of Hammerfell, and as such, although the Thalmor will now have to contend with an additional foe in the Nords, each of it's three primary foes will be weaker than the Empire was when they all fought under the same banner, and the Thalmor can address them separately, with no guarantee that any of the three Kingdoms would come to the aid of the others. I guess the X factor there is if Skyrim did break apart and pick a fight with the elves how would they relate to the others? Unless the nords wanna literally ship their entire army and supply chain around the continent they'd have to march through either the empire or morrowind to fight the aldmeri. The Nords could take to the seas, considering they have access to two significant ports and Alinor is an island. The fact is though, Skyrim is clearly not equipped to fight the Thalmor alone, as you've all just conceded by saying they'd need to forge alliances with others in order to do so.The Imperial Purple of the CPM.
As far as I'm concerned, there's another reason why the Civil War is bad for Skyrim. According to an in-game text (it even appears as one of the loading screen messages), Alduin will return 'when brothers wage war,' or in other words when Skyrim is torn apart by war. The reason he attacked Helgen was specifically to free Ulfric, so that the war could continue and he could stay in full power.Sorry, but this is wrong. The reason Alduin attacked Helgen was to kill the Dragonborn, i.e. YOU, because the Dragonborn is the only one who could stop him.

I probably shouldn't have put 'specifically' then.
In my defense, it is possible that Alduin attacked in order to kill two birds with one stone, aka save Ulfric and kill the Dragonborn. But how was Alduin aware that you (the player character) were the Dragonborn? Did Paarthy say something about that too?Start the groove. Alduin has no real interest in Ulfric one way or the other. The Civil War was just one of the omens leading up to his prophesied return, nothing more.I don't think it was ever spelled out, but I got the impression that Alduin can sense the souls of fellow Dov, including the Dovahkiin. He may not have known specifically who it was at first, but he sensed that it was someone at Helgen and so he just tried to wipe out everybody there.' He may not have known specifically who it was at first, but he sensed that it was someone at Helgen and so he just tried to wipe out everybody there. The sensing-other-dragon-souls idea is interesting, but the only problem with it is: if Alduin can sense the soul of the Dragonborn, why doesn't he just follow him out of Helgen and attack him once he's out in the open? Although I have heard of times where Alduin will attack you (as a randomly-generated dragon attack), if I was a nigh-immortal, all-powerful dragon, I'd just follow the only person who could stop me and kill him the first chance I got.Although I do agree with you now that Alduin didn't rely on the Civil War to stay in power; it was just the omen of his return.Start the groove.
