Old thread here is trying to do the same thing:So Google drive, as a default installation, places the folder 'Google Drive' at C:Users.computername.What I'd prefer, is to have this folder function, instead, as a mapped network drive. Similar to how Egnyte has their network drive. You can easily add a drive letter to your computer via subst g: 'c:usersusernameGoogle Drive' in CMD. However, this only duplicates your hard drive volume and does not reflect available space on your Google drive box.Does anyone know of a means to create a network drive such that it reflects the size and location of your Google Drive account? This worked for us:subst Q: 'c:users%username%Google Drive'?We used a script to give the google drive a letter designation and AD to point home folders to that drive. The issue we are working right now are: How to automate the Google Drive install and How to implement without re-starts.We have the batch file running at log-off so they have a chance to install G drive at their first login. Another issue we are running into; sometimes the user profile adds the domain at the end (c:users%username%.pec-birds) When this happens, we have to delete that profile.?.

I've tried Subst I've tried mklink I've tried regular mapped drives but the damn Google Drive application keeps saying the folder is not writable when I attempt to select anything that's on the network in reality. I want my Google Drive on a network share, not a local one, and while I can create a virtual volume with a container that's basically sitting as one massive file on my NAS I'd rather not have to manage the free space on that. As doing so requires creating a new container and moving the files between them and deleting the old it's terrible.
